Our fast-growing and well-established company is seeking a full-time on-site role for a Staff Accountant located in Tampa, FL. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing essential support for our financial operations. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, reconciliations, and ledgers.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and payment.
  • Manage the company's general ledger, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and assist in the analysis of financial reports, including budget variance analysis.
  • Support the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist with audits, both internal and external, and provide necessary documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and other accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • CPA or working towards CPA certification is a plus but not required.
